26. How do I erase a part of an asset?

Ensure that Smart Erase is enabled in the video settings. This is enabled by default.

Place an asset on top of another asset. Doodly will automatically erase the portion of that asset that is covered.

In the case that you want to see the canvas behind it then you need to use a mask. A mask is an image that exactly matches the canvas. under the asset. If you are using anything other than a whiteboard, the canvas would need to be exported, snipped using the snip and sketch tool and re-imported back into Doodly. Be aware the quality is not always the same so there may be slight color differences when using this method.
